Becoming a Chtistian
God offers us eternal life, despite our being sinners; Romans 5:12. Because we are sinners, God's perfect justice must condemn us; Romans 6:23. The good nes is that CHrist died on the cross and paid the penalty GOd demanded for our sins: Romans 5:8.
A person becomes a Christian by the simple decision of placing faith or trust in Christ and the message of His work on the cross: Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16 - 18; John 3:36, Romans 1:16, 1 Cor. 15:1-4
This child-like belief in Jesus Christ is not that He was just a good man or once lived or was a prophet sent from God, but that He is God incarnate. In believing this a person receives the gift of eternal life which can never be lost once granted; John 1:12, 6:40, 10:28-29.
This gift is completely free because Christ did all that was necessary to pay the price; Ephesians 2:8-9. We can never do any deed good enough in God's eyes that could earn us salvation or keep us saved. Christ did all the work. That's grace!
All you have to do, in the privacy of your own mind, is acknowledge Juses Christ as the risen savior who has you personally in mind when He died on the cross for your sins.
