About Us

Welcome to West Side Bible Church!

We are a warm and welcoming church family deeply committed to the Word of God, success in the Christian life, and passing our faith and knowledge to future generations.

Our History

Since 1968, West Side has been an independent church grounded in grace. Our rich history and steadfast dedication to biblical principles have shaped our identity and continue to guide our ministry. We believe in the transformative power of God’s grace and aim to reflect His love in all that we do.

Community and Growth

We value the growth of our community, both spiritually and relationally. By engaging in meaningful worship, insightful teaching, and vibrant fellowship, we strive to build an environment where you can thrive in your walk with Christ.

Looking Forward

We are excited about the future and the opportunities God has in store for us. As we seek to extend His love and truth to those around us, we remain committed to nurturing and equipping our members for effective ministry. Join us as we continue to grow together in faith, hope, and love.

Our Leadership

Our Mission

WORSHIP, WORD, WITNESS

We believe that the church has been called in the New Testament to fulfill three main purposes:

•WORSHIP: To exalt Christ in everything we do (Col 1:16-23)

•WORD: To edify and equip the saints through the teaching of the Word. (Eph 4:11-13)

•WITNESS: Engage and evangelize the world (Matt 28:19-20; Mk 16:15; Lk 24:47)

Our Purpose

At WSBC everything we do is about creating life change and we want to build and provide opportunities for change in every realm of life: spiritually, emotionally, relationally, professionally, and educationally. We want to see people give their lives to Jesus Christ and discipled to become better husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, single adults and students, and employees and business owners. A relationship with Jesus makes life better—and it makes you better at life.

To this end, we create environments that minimize awkwardness and remove obstacles, believing this will maximize belonging and create opportunities for life change. We want people to feel loved, cared for, and comfortable, because we believe this makes them more receptive to the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to implement this in everything we do including our worship experience, giving experience, Bible study experience, and children's ministry.

OUR VISION:

In light of our mission (worship, word and witness), following is the vision God has given us to fulfill.

WORSHIP: Exalt Christ

• We envision being a place where the grace of Jesus Christ is clearly explained, exemplified, and experienced by every person in every one of our services, ministries, outreaches and programs. • We envision church services in which the worship is expressive yet earnest, the teaching is convicting yet compassionate, and the fellowship is sweet yet sincere. • We envision church services that are multicultural and multigenerational. Where people of all ages, ethnicities, cultures and traditions come together and worship Christ as a body. • We envision a church with people fully devoted to Christ. Though we recognize that everyone is in a different place in their maturity, yet all pressing forward, growing, and yielding every day more the Lordship of Christ.

WORD: Edify the Saints

• We envision developing people to spiritual maturity through Bible studies, discipleship programs, small groups, seminars, and retreats. We envision equipping every believer for significant ministry by helping them discover their gift, talents and the calling that the Lord has given them. • We envision raising up the next generation to be spiritual leaders, not only in our church, but in the surrounding communities. • We envision producing grace-centered teaching that would be available on-line to equip and edify saints all over the world.

WITNESS: Evangelize the World

• We envision sharing the gospel of grace with the hundreds of thousands of residents in the Glendale Metropolitan area by empowering every member with the training and the tools to evangelize. • We envision engaging our community by going out to them (not merely expecting them to come to us) through outreach programs such as neighborhood and school improvement weekends, summer Vacation Bible Schools, community youth programs, and partnering with like-hearted ministries that help the needy and disenfranchised. • We envision financially supporting missionaries worldwide as well as sending out members of the fellowship on short term mission trips.
